PC board fixed problem |

My Beam Serenity 2100 was partially working. It would turn on manually at the main unit in the garage but the motor would not turn on using the hose inside my house. The roller brush would turn on and spin, however. So I knew my wiring was good from the main unit to the receptacles in my house. I went back to the main unit in the garage and disconnected the low voltage wires from the receptacle on the main unit. I then "shorted" the exposed terminals. The unit should have turned on but it didn't. I figured out that I needed a new PC board but I wanted verification before I ordered the part. I called Central Vacuum Direct and a nice gentleman named Al answered the phone. I told Al the problem I was having and he agreed that I needed a new PC board. I also told him that I needed a new cloth filter and he checked and told me they had the correct filter for my Beam. I was very happy that they had both parts because my Beam was 25 years old. I got the parts and it fixed the problem.
