  • The motor tends to be the most expensive replacement part for any central vacuum system and it's also a good idea to replace the filter when you're replacing the motor. This process can add to not only the overall cost of the repair but the time you'll spend as well. Keeping in mind that replacement motors will only have a one(1) year warranty, another option to consider would be to replace the entire power unit in favor of a newer model. Newer power units can have up to a twenty(20) year, no-strings-attached, warranty and will often be quieter too!

Needed to replace and old (1992) motor in an Astro Vac central vac system.  Central Vacuum Direct had the part on hand, received in a few days after ordering.  Was able to get system back up and running.

This unit works well and if I didn't have to spend an hour modifying a space filler, because the cylinder that creates the vacuum was an inch shorter than the original, I would give it 5 stars.
